For this project, the San Francisco Utility Commission looked to CST to help them provide a solution to replace four bolted epoxy steel tanks that started corroding from the inside after only five years of being in service. CST and the SFPUC worked very closely together to provide the Town of Sunol with a quality water storage system that will withstand the tests of time, inside and out.

The United States Coast Guard Training Facility instructed their design engineer to investigate various steel coating options that could withstand the susceptibility of corrosion from being so close to the Pacific Ocean and the salty sea air. The design engineer came to the obvious conclusion that Aquastore brand Glass-Fused-to-Steel, Edge-Coat process, impeccable Quality Assurance practice and speed of construction was indeed the best choice for replacing their welded steel tank that had fallen pray to corrosive ocean air.
